REPORTING ON STUDENT PROGRESS
Student’s academic progress is reported to parent four times during
the school year: Fall and spring parent/teacher conferences and January
and June Reports of Student Progress. In the fall, parents and teachers
meet to review their students present level of performance and
highlight targeted goals for the upcoming school year. In January and
June teachers completed written reports that assess a student’s progress
towards their end of year benchmarks for the grade level. The spring
conference is a chance to reassess goals and the student’s progress
towards meeting grade level expectations.
LOST & FOUND
We strongly encourage parents to label student clothing and items
that will travel to school. If an item is missing, parents and students
are encouraged to check for items in the Lost and Found bulleting board
outside of the front office. Many quality items are never claimed and
are donated to charity at the end of the school year.
Personal Electronics: Students should not
bring electronic toys to school. The school day is intended for
students to engage in core academic and social learning. Students who
bring these items to school do so at their own risk.
NO FOOD POLICY
In an effort to reinforce health and wellness we have moved to a “No
Food” policy for birthday celebrations. You may still celebrate your
child by sharing an small item with the class such as pencils or
stickers, donating a book to the classroom or library in your child’s
name or sending in a t-shirt for the class to sign in honor of your
child’s special day. Teachers are happy to celebrate your child’s day,
just not with food. This policy is also to align with new federal
regulations that support the development of healthy habits.
There may be special events during the school year where food may be a
part of the celebration. Your child’s teacher will be in contact with
you to ask for items to be donated. Please be sure to provide snacks
that meet your child’s teacher guidelines as we have students with
allergies.
